Digital Media/Interactive Entertainment
As
digital media/interactive entertainment continues to increase
its influence, presence and popularity in today’s society,
the Florida High Tech Corridor has emerged as a key region for
the advancement of this growing industry.
Key to the Corridor’s digital media/interactive entertainment
presence is Electronic Arts Tiburon and the Florida Interactive
Entertainment Academy (FIEA) at the University of Central Florida.
Electronic Arts Tiburon, a major studio for the world’s
largest video game developer Electronic Arts, creates best sellers
such as Madden NFL™ Football, while FIEA opened its graduate-level
program in 2005 to train the next generation of leaders in the
video game industry.
Digital media/interactive entertainment includes the process
of creating, packaging and delivering interactive and experiential
content for entertaining, teaching, informing and marketing to
the consumer and business user, across multiple digitally-enabled
platforms using advanced technologies and applications.
As digital media/interactive entertainment is a new sector of
the Florida High Tech Corridor, the Council is actively researching
the sector’s revenue, employment and total company numbers.
