Judy Genshaft Dear Friends,

The Florida High Tech Corridor partnership is increasingly recognized as a model for economic development. Regionalism is embraced as a means of capitalizing on resources that no single city or county can be expected to provide on its own.

By linking business, government, educational and economic development organizations from coast-to-coast, our 21-county Corridor has more to offer high tech industry and more opportunity for its citizens than ever before.

Opportunity abounds. Students can pursue high-tech careers in fields such as bioengineering and the life sciences, with applications ranging from rehabilitation engineering to biosensors, from medical devices to drug delivery technologies, from cutting edge digital media and modeling, simulation and training to nanotechnology, microelectronics, aviation and aerospace.

Through ongoing research, we are tackling the future at an amazing pace. Our UCF/USF faculty and students are expanding knowledge in areas as diverse as search-and-rescue robots, nano-scale diagnostic devices and stem cell technologies.

Dr. Hitt and I are absolutely committed to our institutions' roles as catalysts for successful economic development and as partners with our region's corporate, government and educational organizations to insure a vibrant future for our Corridor and our community.

Sincerely,
Judy Genshaft, President
University of South Florida

John C. Hitt Dear Friends:

The University of Central Florida is committed to enhance the future of our region by partnering with business, industry, government, and education to attract, retain, and grow those industries that offer the greatest promise of economic success and continuing employment.

Our state, and particularly the Florida High Tech Corridor, has emerged as a bright spot of employment growth-leading the nation in job creation. Business can rely on our two universities, University of South Florida and UCF, partnering with our community colleges and supporting our public schools, to assure a workforce ready to meet the needs of the highly specialized industries burgeoning along the Corridor.

My associates at UCF and I are honored to work so closely with my colleague Dr. Genshaft and her outstanding team at USF as we strive to enhance the quality of life across this great region.

Cordially yours,
John C. Hitt, President
University of Central Florida
