Legislative Issues and Policies
Industry and government leaders point to a variety of benefits
that contribute to growth in the Florida High Tech Corridor:
- A pro-business environment
- Expedited permitting
- Competitive construction and operating costs
- Large available workforce
- Quick response training programs
- Favorable taxation on research and manufacturing equipment
- Strong university, community college and public school
support
- Strong utility services
- Quality of life
The Florida High Tech Corridor Council (FHTCC), through the leadership
of its three co-chairing universities works closely with Corridor
legislature representatives to ensure Florida’s climate
remains favorable for high tech growth. As well, FHTCC partners
with organizations such as the Florida Economic Development Council,
Tampa Bay Partnership, Tampa Bay Technology Forum, the Florida
Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise Florida and other regional organizations
to advance policies that ensure the region remains competitive
and vibrant as a place to do business.
