What is Career Expo? Career Expo is a special initiative of the Florida High Tech Corridor Council designed to introduce leading Florida High Tech Corridor employers to career center directors from top universities and colleges nationwide and to exhibit the many opportunities they offer to students and recent graduates. |
Who participates in Career Expo? High tech companies, large and small, from across the Corridor as well as career center directors from many of the nation’s top universities. Past year’s participants included Lockheed Martin, Dynetech, GEICO, Harris Corporation, Tech Data, Princeton, Cornell, NYU, Notre Dame, Carnegie Mellon and Purdue. |
Who can participate? Any high tech company residing within the 23-county Florida High Tech Corridor. |
What kind of employee is the event designed to attract to the Corridor? Career Expo is designed to create a pipeline of talent that begins at many of the nation’s top colleges and ends here in the Corridor. As graduates of highly respected universities, these students often possess skills and attributes that are sought after by high tech companies looking to gain a competitive advantage. |

Why should I participate in Career Expo? As a primary source of career advice for tens of thousands of educated, highly skilled graduates each year, CCDs can play an integral role in attracting the Corridor’s high tech workforce. Participating companies will meet with attending CCDs face-to-face in both formal and informal settings giving them an opportunity to initiate a personal long-term dialogue to discuss available positions and the needs of their company. |
When and where will Career Expo ’10 take place? Career Expo ’08 will take place in Orlando, Florida in February 2010. |
Why does FHTCC host the annual Career Expo? As one of the nation’s emerging high tech hubs, the Florida High Tech Corridor’s need for highly educated, highly skilled technology employees is growing. By showing CCDs the high tech career opportunities the Corridor provides, our hope is that the Corridor will be one of the first places they recommend to students looking to start high tech careers. |
